Jigsaw

The world in slow motion walks beside me,

shows me a new life

with all the missing pieces.

The faint scratches on the walls,

the cobwebbed cracks in pavements,

the tiniest insect struggling forwards.

I notice them all.

I hear the rain announcing its entrance,

watch everyone leave,

be its only companion.

There’s a new painting out there

my relaxed surroundings breathing slowly.

Me and my wheelchair never miss a thing.

Background: MS has definitely slowed me down, but that's given me the chance to see what's around me in a different way
